Established on 2nd July 2001, Mizoram University is a central university formed under the
University Grants Commission, Government of India. NAAC accredited, it is known for its
credibility and innovative teaching approaches. It has a world-class education
infrastructure
and learning facilities. Their approaches are top-notch, moulding the students to become

The university has developed multiple online educational programs that will assist students in gaining expertise in diverse subjects. Certificates earned work as gems on the resume that will enable students to climb up their professional career ladder. These online programs are categorised into three types - Undergraduate Programs, Postgraduate Programs & Skill Enhancement Courses.
The Online Bachelors Programs include B.Com in E-Accounting, B.Com in E-Commerce, and BBA in E-Business. These programs are structured to provide a strong foundation in commerce and business management, making them suitable for students looking to build careers in digital and financial domains.
Online Masters Programs are available in specialisations such as Marketing, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Big Data Analytics, and E-Commerce. These courses focus on advanced concepts, preparing students for higher roles in business and industry.
The Skill Enhancement Courses are short-term programs that include executive diplomas and certificates in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Digital Marketing, GST, and Accounting. These are designed to help learners acquire specific skills and stay current with evolving industry demands.
The Centre for Distance and Online Education, MZU, launched a Skill Enhancement Course on February 15th, 2024, at 11:30 am in the VC's Office. The program was presided over by Prof. Zaithanzauva Pachuau, Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education. The Director introduced the importance of Skill Enhancement courses and explained how students would access the course online. He also elaborated that the skill courses offered are all self-paced learning, designed to be beneficial for students. The virtual launch was initiated by Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka, VC, with a speech emphasizing the significance of Skill Courses under NEP 2020. He stressed the importance of skill courses for students' future careers. The launch concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Lalhmingliana Renthlei, Assistant Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education. Watch the launch video here

Chief guest Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, Vice President of India, addressed the 18th Convocation of Mizoram University at the campus today. The convocation was graced by Chairman - Prof Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice Chancellor and other guests of honour; Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Mizoram Governor and Chief Rector MZU, Shri Lalduhawma Chief Minister of Mizoram, Prof Prakash Bartunia Former Vice Chancellor BBAU. Before the convocation program commenced, Vice President Dhankar planted the sapling of the state tree - Media Ferrea at the MZU Campus. In his address, Vice President Dhankar congratulated the hardworking students for their achievements. He emphasized the opportunities present in today's India and encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship and leverage the Act East Policy for the benefit of Mizoram's tourism sector. He commended the increasing number of high-achieving women.
The convocation, led by Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice-Chancellor of MZU, saw the conferment of degrees, gold medals, and prizes to selected candidates. Students who received Gold Medals from MSc program were Yogesh Chandavarkar - MSc Artificial Intelligence & Sandeep Vaniyan - MSc Cyber Security.
